I was watching Cameron arrive at a British military base today in Afghanistan. When He arrived I saw senior Officers in the Army saluting him, and can't help but wonder why. He does not hold or has never held a commission in any branch of the forces and the queen is in charge of the forces so why the salute??

My guess,
maybe he went to give him the middle finger then remembered that there were cameras and quickly turned it into a salute

Sorry Chum the Queen is the head of the armed forces and you swear allegiance to her and not to the PM.
