Hi, I'm Fent, I've been browsing the forums for a few weeks now and decided I would sign up. I'm currently training with British Military Fitness to get my fitness up, obviously lol I started at around 19stone and currently at 15st 7, so I got about another stone to go before I can finally make an application, its been a long 4months losing the 3stone so far! Ive been considering joining Pioneers, REME or maybe even the Infantry.

Look forward to hearing from some of you, Fent!

Two things...
First: I'm not a lad  (Woulda thought the fairy on my avatar would be a bit of a clue!)
Second: I joined up when I was 3 months short of 27, so it doesn't have to be an issue. You may not be as fit as some of the youngsters, but you'll have a lot more life experience, and that'll help a lot. Your fitness will improve massively during training - my 1.5 mile time went from 12:58 to 10:52 in 10 weeks, but I was the only girl on my course, so I didn't have much say in the matter. (13:00 was my max time allowed, so I was cutting it quite fine when I started...)

Sorry!! I didnt look at youre avatar! I feel stupid now LOL!

Suppose I'm making more of an issue than it really is. All I can do is get myself in as good as shape as I can before selection!

Nice to see people interested in joining, I Going TA first, i wanted to go regular, but the local army office said i was looking at about a 1-2 year waiting to get into my chosen career. so i thought do the TA for time being, get some training sorted then go back to basic with some experience under my belt. Not ideal but it's better than nothing.

I myself am looking at either doing Armourer or CMT still debating, although i'm more favoured towards Armourer, because I have some knowledge in the area which would prove useful.

Any way, good luck to ya.

Mod note: If you want to do a job, best learn to spell it first... Unless you're joining the US military, in which case, as you were!
