Deferral is not quite the end of the world...

Just got back from ADSC where i was deferred for having a heart murmur, i passed everything else in the medical and if anyone else is worried about the examination it wasn't so bad, especially the initial tests. The nurses are very friendly and understanding. I now have to be checked over by a specialist at a hospital, if i'm given the green light i should be going back to selection in a couple of weeks but this time i will not have to do the full medical which is good. It has also given me a taste of what to expect so i will go back with more confidence, especially after what a Captain said when he debriefed me about the next process.

So if anyone is worried about being deferred, don't be, i'm not even thinking about what the specialist might find cause you can't live life like that.

Hate to burst your bubble but you will have to redo the Medical.
I had an applicant who went back for her third time and failed the medical she had passed twice before.

The doctor and the nurses said that i would have to do the urine test, maybe height and weight and a brief check over forms and notes but not the full medical. Either way, got to see a cardiologist first! the fun continues : (

Dixiee66 nothing to worry about i got deferred at my first ADSC for a heart murmur as well, went to the hospital 2 days later and was told i have a really healthy heart and I was only in there for 15 minutes, was back at ADSC two weeks later. The good thing out of it is the specialists at the hospital can tell what your hearts like plus it's quite interesting watching them show you it on a screen lol :P

Nah didn't have to do the full medical again, just height, weight and seeing the doctor which is only 5 minutes instead of 20 like the first time

Lol..the British Army is a broad and well respected organisation or what ever u call it ( respect) , they suppose to have all the medical equipment to check all applicant properly mostly in the area of Heart murmur case just to know if it's the murmur that won't affect the canditdate in physical fitness ( phases training) or not, than sending the candidate away with some sad or what ever . The British Army is responsible in protecting UK and in helping rest of the world in terms of problem , they should be high standard medical equipment in checking each applicant....critical time calls for critical solution rather than fals focast .

Not sure what yor trying to say in your last post?????

You are not sent away from ADSC because we dont have the equipment.
You are sent away to a SPECIALIST for a second opinion!!!

Although not perfect its the best we can do for all our applicants.

Is the urine test just a drugs test basically?
