should i run my 1 miler or 3 miler on a 400 meter running track?

Depends what sort of training your doing? Ive done a few 3 milers rounds around a 400m track because it gives you a good idea of your min/mile.

I suggest not getting used to running on perfectly flat (easy to run on) tracks. There are several reasons for this:

You will never run on tracks during selection/PRMC
The routes you run will always have gradients up and down
Running courses that have incline sections will develop different muscel groups in your legs and core.
It's not so boring

I think I'd lose my mind if I ran 3 miles on an athletics track. Hell I'd be bored after a mile!

I'm with Bees, get used to running on varied terrain, it's closer to what you'll be doing and all-round better for you anyway. if you need to map a route out try www.walkjogrun.net.

neither. 5+ mile every night at this stage my lad! and forget track, it aint reflective of how your training is gonna flog you stupid on the long winding road. :D
