Basic Training

just finished basic training and now im at r.a.f cosford.
Basic Training: It was deffinatly an experience to say the least. Some highs some lows. Overcoming home sickness was a big one because ive just left school but im fine with all that now. Its not an easy course to get through though if you work hard you will do fine. Ive certinally got alot better att ironing :) and a washing machine isnt as alian as i thought it first was.
A message to people about to enter basic training basically work as hard as you can you will get home sick and you will wonder why you are there and whats the point in it all but everything you do there is perparing you for life in the r.a.f no matter how small it is trust me. The word f**k will flow out the corporals mouth like theres no tommorow weather in a good or bad situation but i just tended to laugh. There will be times where your fligh get rewarded for good performance and times where you will get beasted but just keep your head up and get along with the course and you will be fine. It goes as fast as anything and you can look back after the 9 weeks and laugh at all the good and bad times youu had. The people you meet are amazing and even though our fligh has been separted becausse we have all gone off to trade training we all still keep in touch soo thats all good :).

If anyone has any questions nno matter how stupid please ask me and put your mind at ease.

many thanks

well done mate, my brothers at cosford at the minute.

im going for the same trade as you, and start basic training on the 19th of august, pretty nervous but can't wait.
ive been doing loads of fitness training but just wondered if you could give me and insight into how hard the fitness actually is,

i can run 7miles no worriesand do 55sit ups in a minute, my only problem is upper body strenght asim built like a kenyan marathon runner so only manage like 25press ups so thats what im working on now. do you think this is a reasonable level of fitness to go in with?

also bit random, but do you know a lad called alex hannah, hes just starting at cosford as well i think.
