Any one heard anything about the new ballistics plate coming out in body armour in late 2010 - beginning of - 2011.
Instead of it being one sheet of ballistics it's segmented like dragon scales and can absorb most rifle rounds, causes huge internal damage and bone breaking but you got a bigger chance of surviving. It might be old news to some of you but it's new to me.
And yeah above post, Looks the job

The United States have been issuing these for a while.

Not quite the same as my old level 2 which relied on trauma plates back and front. It would stop a .357(supposedly,I never tested it)But not a high velocity rifle round.A 7.62 would go through and through, not sure about the 5.56 but I'm certain someone will enlighten me.

It's not a gun

gun's are mounted on wheels and fire huge amounts of explosives.

trials are in the assessment phase and the new kit has an in-service date for operational troops of autumn 2010 followed by mid-2011 for the role out of 95,000 sets to all three services.

I prefer those other images you see where it looks like you've just fell out of an X-Men comic, but all in black.
I'm sure they showed it in a issue of Loaded magazine
I think the new helmets look a bit american. some might disagree

I know what Tom164 is on about, it does sound a little 'Ghost Recon' (for those who've seen and played the game) but I think anything that will reduce the strain but increase performance on soldiers is a MUST.
[EDIT]
Thought I'd post a link up about the Dragon skin

People have said that it failed some tests because it causes massive internal damage, and some rifle rounds would ricochet and go underneath some of the 'Scales'.

Dont rely on any dates, you can probably put another ten years on those dates at least.
