Hi there,
I am Michael or "Firthy" just thought i would sign up after using this site as a research tool and ultimatly aiding in my decision to join the army.
Popped into my local AFCO in middlesbrough town center and showed my interest. Trotted off home with lots of info and a date for my BARB test.
Well nice meeting you all and I hope to participate and add to this already superb community.

I apologize.
Let's get back on track shall we ?
In the process of being a little over my head with the amount of details I need to look up, starting most importantly with sorting out myself a proper fitness regime and reading further into the specific roles I may be offered.
I have 7 GCSE's above C and some low A-levels.
From what I have read so far I like the sound of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers but what specific role I would like to have within that is still beyond me.

Any way, ask the questions you like to the chap on the other end, it's a good way to found out allot of information with ease, and specific information they can help you as far as information relating to the army, fitness i'm not 100% sure on, theirs a small link on the British army site but it only relates to training for ADSC (Army development selection centre).

Ah thank you, I did take a look at that chat link. Will try get myself a nice list of question to throw at the poor chap on the other end.
Regarding fitness, I am just wanting to make sure I am set for the selection process really, once I am that far I imagine I could train properly for further progression.
And thanks tom.

Yeah, selection is a doddle even the fitness stage you don't have to train incredibly loads for it unless your fantastically unfit.
Good idea with the questions, should have wrote that down too lol.

Well I can imagine I am horribly unfit compared to you guys so I think I would struggle. In the process of remedying that though.
