Just a quick introduction ladies and gents: I'm a long-time browser of this site, first-time contributor. As my name suggests I'm pretty new to the RMR, having turned to the dark side following a few years in the TA/UOTC. My end-goal is to join the regular Corps as a YO, stacks of work ahead of me then!

Anticipate stacks of training questions in the weeks leading up to my POC. I will, however, aim to share as much of my, albeit limited, knowledge to anyone standing entirely on the civvy side of the fence!

So have you started RMR training yet? Was there a selection weekend for you recently? If so, what do you think so far?

I put in a chit for a transfer from the TA in June (yes, this is now possible) but it's been an admin nightmare so I've been attending holding troop while I wait to appear on their books and will do a PRMC with the rest of the lads in November. Although I've not been away on a weekend yet but holding troop has been awesome - it's been about 80% good, hard phys with a bit of sport, rock climbing and teaching thrown in - I'm pretty much Corps-pissed at the moment, so that should carry me through any low points I find myself in when it all gets a bit more serious
