Hello. Im fairly new to the site, but i am getting used to it gradually. I have done all my tests like ADSC, BARB, etc, and am going in the army in july (the 21st to be exact). I was just wondering if there was any recomendations as to what type of bag i should take with me? I tried to search but couldnt find anything (probably due to not knowing much). Any help or information would be much appreciated.
Thank you

Just any bag that will fit all your stuff in your empty bag will prob be locked in a room with the rest.

Most guys in my platoon took suitcases. And although there was a room to lock all your suitcases etc. in, most people just kept theirs under their beds (including me) because you can keep an eye on it there and store things you don't need. Including the swimming shorts on the list, you won't use those at all.

Son took a bloomin' big holdall containing everything on the kit list.
Turned out we spent a fortune on stuff he didn't need / never wore.

Take your big bank robbing bag...
...but
don't go bank robbing.
It's hard to find a balance between taking things you'll need and things you might need and things that might be handy etc, etc.
Don't worry too much as long as you have everything on the kit list! Everyone will turn up with stuff they don't need, I did

Would love to take you in my bag! hehe
Yeah I wasn't too sure if I had to take something like a big duffle bag or suitcase or something. There is one thing on the kit list that puzzles me though. Why do you have to have a comb if you have to have really short hair, or am I being stupid in some way?

You don't need one, write down the list and we will tell you what you do and don't need.

I got most of the kitlist already so not too worried about that but the kitlist I got for going in the army is okay, aparently, its been shortened a little but there few things in there that i was confused about, like a comb.....? Why do you need a comb if you have grade 2 hair?

To me this is strange.
Also i know you arent allowed to take your car to phase 1 training but you might be able to to phase 2 depending on the ATR, some do some dont. Ive got the same problem though because ive got to keep my car at home and think my sister is going to nick it when im not around but if she does she going to feel the pain!

I'm just going to throw this one out there and hope anyone who's been in Phase 1 at Catterick recently might know.
Coathangers - how many needed?
I've no doubt that everyone will be queing up in teh NAAFFI to buy whatever overpriced rubbish ones they have there. So would rather just bring my own! But not a million if I only need 5...
And here's the tattoo I'm getting done tomorrow for digging up this four year old post to ask my question...
