Application questions

Hi there. As the title says this is about applying and getting my application in as soon as possible. I’ve been training for some time now so it’s time to do something about it. I’m a little behind but I hear it can take a month or so from booking a formal interview to when you actually have take the first 1.5mile test, and from what I’ve noticed the time between the first test and the time you manage to get to selection is about 3-4months. Like I said I’m a little behind on my cardio,(my 3mile currently at 24mins & can only do 2 overhand pull-ups) I’m thinking right now if I’m able to crack my 1.5mile and take that in August, should the time in between be enough to get ready for selection?
I know the first thing is the 1.5mile run in under 10 minutes. Right now my best is 11.04 (been a few weeks since I last tried, could be a bit better by now.) Do you think August will be long enough to get my time down to -10?
I do try and get as much Cardio training in as much as possible but with my training in the morning I have to get done what I can before work. Training is starting to get a little slow now, I’ve been working on my base fitness for some time( before my fitness level was awful, I literally couldn’t run a mile), now that I’m there I don’t get those progress spurts you used to get when you first start training. Things are slow by steady.
So any thoughts on when I should get started on applying?
