I did't realise these sort of sites existed until I got chatting to a member on his POC. There seem to be a fair few aspiring YOs on here (don't do it!), and responses to some questions I've looked at seem a bit dubious. If anyone has any burning questions, fire away.

Guns totally unrelated I know but your right. People answer questions on here without ever having set foot in Lympstone.

I can't believe how dead this place has gone it used to be full of Nods, YO's and Marines who popped in now and then.

I should just add that for the most part information offered is very good, and I wish I was aware of this site whilst I was going through the selection process. There does appear to be a few areas where only speculation exists. Hopefully, this is where I can be of assistance

Could you outline an average training day?

Good effort for getting on this site. I am trying to get as much accurate information on here as possible and it's good that you've stepped in to help out.
How was crash action and the tests?

Thanks very much. I'll have to make this brief as I'm in test week now. I've cracked the first three tests and at this very moment am preparing my kit for the 30-miler tomorrow morning. Breakfast: 0230. Coach deparst: 0300. Syndicate 1 starts 0400. Peeling myself off the floor: 7 hours later. Just to be clear though this is not a typical day! Depending on what term you are in generally a day will start with reveille at 0600 (earlier when you first start training) and some communal cleaning before breakfast at 0645. The day is broken down into periods which may comprise phys, lectures, weapons handling and drill (in term 1). Lunch is at 1230 and the time you finish will vary massively from 1600 - 1800. Dinner starts at 1830, there's admin to be cracked for the next day as well as the possibility of some reading or written work. There's a fourth meal at 2100 (niners) All ready to start again the next day! I'm sure there will be more questions and I'll give a bit more detail when I've got a bit more time and have regained functionality of my limbs.

Hahaha, it's funny because all of the YO's continually said that while we shared the Officers Mess, enjoying our scran, and absorbing all of thier worldly knowledge.

But if you looked into thier eyes you knew they appreciated thier place and were experiencing a great privledge not many men experienced.
