First time posting, but have been reading threads for a while and really like the site by the way.

Here's the question: I've been looking at joining the RAF since...well ever and at first I wanted Pilot, then I stopped dreaming and wanted to go for either Intelligence Officer or Regiment Officer (leaning strongly towards Reg Officer). Just wondering if the stuff detailed below would give me a good chance of getting through selection etc?

-Decent GCSE's
-AAD at A2
-Physical Geog at Uni (next year)
-Flt Sgt in ATC, been to most courses etc. (got the BTEC in Avionics etc.)

I know that I've got a while if I'm going to Uni but does anyone have a very simple fitness plan that I can do at home, just to get me into the routine of working on my fitness. :D

Thank you very much for your help.

PM me your e-mail address, and I'll send you a pretty good training plan that the RAF used to give out to potential Gunners.

You have all of the required academic qualifications for entry as an RAF Officer. These will allow you to start the application process with your local AFCO. Your suitability to be an officer in the RAF is not just based on your academic qualifications. When you attend Officer and Aircrew Selection Centre (OASC), your potential to be trained as an officer will be assessed. The board will look at your ability to communicate, make decisions, formulate and implement a plan, think on your feet, physical fitness, personality, the way you present yourself, motivations for joining, life experiences, knowledge of current affairs, to name but a few.

Spend your time wisely at Uni. Get fit, do your research on the RAF and your chosen branches. Are in a UAS? Try and join one or liase with your AFCO to set up visits. Keep up to date with current affairs around the world.

These are just a few tips.

Good Luck

Still no reason not to apply for Pilot either, if that's still what you want.
