Hey all,
I have been medically deffered in my Para application. I was wondering what the success rate is if you appeal and what sort time it takes.
It's a right kick in the teeth after all my training.

It would help if you mentioned what you were deferred for and for how long?

I'm still waiting on my letter from ADSC. It's taken a week. I will let you know when I find out.

I hope you did not give them a stamped, addressed envelope.
With your spelling it could end up anywhere.
Stop with the text speak or you will find no help here.

How did you know that Whooley has a sense of humour then? He has in point of fact.

What was wrong with your knees? Would you mind going into details please ? If not PM me, cheers.

del_boi, maybe the knee thing was an excuse and they binned you for being a plank? I'd appeal if I was you, just for the giggle factor if nothing else.

Cheers to the people that actually helped.
I'm in the process of appealing and I've got my doctor to write me another letter going in to more detail about the problem I had. He is stating that I have seen a specialist and he also sees no reason for me not to start Para training. I'm also sending a copy of the report I got from the Para insight course, and a copy of their training program that I have been doing. Will that be of any help???
Insight course results:
1.5 mile- 8.17
Sit ups-65
Press ups-78
Pull ups-14
Bleep test-12.5

Yes mate I would think that is the right sort of thing to send in for your appeal, all you can do now is wait and see though.
You seem to have some good evidence to back up your claim so I'd be pretty optimistic if I was you as not only have you been cleared by a specialist you can also point to the fact that you had no problems on your insight course and therefore haven't shown yourself to suffer any difficulties doing the type of things you'd be doing at Catterick.
Best of luck mate.
