Just to let you all know if you havent got there.

West Midlands Recruitment Offices will be doing a 1 day PRMC assesment with the Royal Marine PTI's. The next one is on the 22nd Jan.

For those who dont get this, it's a optional assesment to see if you're sharp enough to do the PRMC. Good idea in my books.

Yeah mate I think it is....I only found out about it yesterday.

Up at Aston Res, it's basically PRMC in a day. Hard work...but a good idea. It's no pass or fail so will be a good insight.

Will you be going Dave?

Cheers for the info Stacka!

Would this also be a good idea for those interested in applying for Officer or do they hold a seperate one?

Not sure if I am, I went on the one in November but my PJFT is delayed at the moment and I haven't spoken to my recruiter at the AFCO for a month or so now, so probably won't go on the next one because I'm not even running at the moment. If you want you can PM me an I'll tell you as much as I can remember about the day.

How do you get on one of these?
Do you have to of passed the PJFT first?
Is this for Birmingham AFCO recruits only, because I'm with Coventry?

cheers.

You can ask your afco to go on it, usually they mention it to you. There was this one lad who was from Derby on mine so I don't think Coventry should be a problem. I think it's when you pass your medical because when I did mine I think there was just me and a couple of others who hadn't done their PJFT and you could tell our fizz wasnt up to scratch like a few others because they creamed the tests. But my recruiter said it doesn't matter because it just to see where your at with it all, so no pressure whatsoever to get amazing scores etc. If they sort you out and book a place for you on it they send you a letter with everything you need and instructions etc. So the thing to do is ring your AFCO and ask about it.

Hope this helps.

I think this is the aquaint day. This is mega easy and they are really soft on you. I did mine around Edgebaston (incorrect spelling) reservoir, it gives you an assement about your fitness, but does not test your determination. There was one lad on mine that could not even hold his own weight on the pull up bar, let alone do a pull up.
It gives you an insight into day one of PRMC, but is nothing compared to PRMC.
I found day one of PRMC relatively easy, it does what it says in the tin. For me it was all about day two and the determination tests. If you can't cope with day one then you are weak and shouldn't even bother.

I'm at Derby AFCO and I went on the Birmingham RMAD theres one for each part of the nation like the midlands is run in Birmingham etc.

I think its your choice whether or not to go on an RMAD, that was the case for me, but I can imagine some lads have to attend just because they need to see what its all about and have no clue about what they've got coming.

Hi all,

My AFCO told me I had no choice in the matter. But I'm cool with that I'd like to see whats expected of me.

But also it's a good indicator as to if your fitness is at the right level, and to see if you are telling porkies to your AFCO about your training regime.
