Medical Question

Hey guys,

So I got my Medical coming up on the 25th October.. I had a few questions:

I sometimes slip under the min weight requirement, if I fail on that can I redo the medical at a later date? Or is that my potential career over?

Will the Doctor perform a blood test? (Not too fond of needles that's all :P )

Cheers.

I wouldn't panic about your weight if I were you, if you're underweight you'll probably be told to go home and fatten up a bit.

So it may mean a delay, but it won't mean you can't join the Marines at a later date.

No blood test when I had mine. Only interesting thing to note was that it was a hot day and I had been in the waiting from for over an hour, poor bugger that had to handle my sweaty bollocks

Water weights 1 kg per liter so if you are border line you could ensure you neck a large bottle just before you go in.

Good luck,

I was gonna do that anyway.. but at the moment I can be anywhere from 1 to 4kg short of the weight... I wish it was easier to put on 4kg but I dont think my body could handle 4 litres of water lol.

Eitehr way I should be ready soonish.. I really want to get on that aquaint day on the 17th...

How does the weight system work? Do they take into account BMI?

You doing a acquint day.. your lucky i guess at least this will give you a good feel for how your fitness is.

My first prmc after school was rushed too soon, thus failed.

I was quite light around 65kg i think, now i about 12 stone and this purely due to doing press-ups, and turning any "baby" fat into muscle.

I suggest you dont "fatten" up just to get into the correct wieght area, sinse this could affect your fitness.
Sinse it be much better being under wieght if need be then turning that fat into muscle though training thus as we know muscle wieghts more than fat, you can allways redo the medcial.

Im 5 Foot 7 Inches

Well currently I've put on about 1kg of solid muscle since I've started training properly (1 month) so I need to give it a bit more time... Is it worth still going to my medical or just phoning my AFCO and basically saying I wont be able to put the weight on in time and I need to leave it for now.
