Documentation for application

Hi,

I'm putting in a new application for the Royal Marines and it's asking for National Insurance no, passport no, etc. My only problem is that I can only provide proof of my National Insurance no and Birth Certificate no, because my passport is out of date now and I've lost my National Health card.

Will I need to apply for a new passport and request a National Health card before I can proceed?

Thanks

Not too sure about passport but I wasn't able to get hold of my NHS card. It wasn't really an issue for my AFCO. He told me to get down the GP, which I did. You need only ask the receptionist and they can give you your NHS# on a card or something.

It was good enough for me just to have my number on a card, from my local health centre.

When it comes to the referees, is it ok to put down your current employer, even though you have only been with them for a month?

Can you request that they not be contacted until an offer has been made?

if they are a referee they will be contacted i think. nhs cards are free you get the form from your gp and then send it off. i guess you will have to fork out the dosh for the new passport

Excellent.

Does anyone know at what stage the security clearance is done?

I.e. Interview, PJFT, PRMC, etc.
