alright fella,

I'm hoping to go RE too, going through the application process atm and im concentrating on press-ups, sit-ups and chin-ups, all of which i can do in my room/house. As for the runs, you'll need to do a few mile n halfs in under 10mins 30secs to show your a serious aplicant not just a fat knacker  with nowhere else to go. The 1.5 milers are just for selection so i'd recommend a few long runs aswell, 4,6,8 milers at a decent steady pace should help more in phase one than just being able to go 1.5 miles.

Just out of curiousity what trade and unit are you looking at? all the best, lenny.

The look at life week should be a good thing, i've never been on one but everyone seems to enjoy them, the look at life course will be specific to the regiment you want join, so in this case you'll do the 5-day insight course at gib barracks in surrey. you'll be given a good insight into what sappers get up to, won't be exactly like life at your unit but it will let you look at the RE closer and make up your mind on joining or not.

My trade, driver specialist hopefully, and then onto 59 indep cdo sqn.
