It all depends on your current level of fitness.

21 : 45 isn't a terrible time - obviously there's room for improvement.

If you haven't done any interval training before start with one hard session a week - try doing 400 metres repeated 4 to 5 times, then after a couple of weeks progress to two interval sessions a week.

I can't see you gaining much benefit from -

Sounds like a quick way to injury / burn out ?

In theory that would result in a dismal time, unless you drove 2miles and walked 1 8)

PLUS there is no time for recovery RUN RUN RUN

Maybe??? :P   Just yanking your chain!

Progression is the name of the game. If your current fitness level is not great then you don't want to be rushing into the really intense sessions. This can be a direct route to injury.

Best bet is to take it easy and make sure you have enough rest days in your week.

Before I was serious about joining the marines, I spent all day on the computer unless I was lifegaurding, my record being 20 hours in one day on one game but I think I have moved away from being a nerd now. My daily diet when working consisted of a banoffie flap-jack (unless I had to choose another flavour) for breakfast, 2 or 3 chocolate bars and maybe another flapjack if I had the money. For lunch, a packet of nick naks (prefably the nice'n'spicey ones) through out the day and a microwave lasagna for dinner, I had had over 250 lasagnas in one year. I had very little time to eat these so I often burnt my mouth so I drank a bottle of coke to try and cool it down. And being a life-gaurd I was sitting down all day so thats pritty much the same as sitting on the computer all day apart from the strain on the eyes and I was definaly the chocolate machines best costumer. The last time I had played a sport was about 1 year ago and I could barly run 0.5 miles at that point but lucky I am one of those people who don't get fat but still I was full of crap as you are what you eat. It took me about 3 months to get back to normal. If It took me that long to get out of that state it shouldn't take you as long to get out of yours. Just for the record I always eat pasta and freshly cooked meals etc now and don't lifegaurd.
