Suck it in a get up. Once you get going you will not want to stop, you need to get out of that mode where you mind is beating you.

Just "go get some" lol.

Try getting up an hour earlier in the morning and fit a session then, your too bloody tired to think of an excuse not to go, put your alarm on the other side of the room though, just to make sure you get out of bed.

For my evening sessions I don't know, I usually log into this site first and find it usually motivates me to get up and go. Reading about other peoples training programs while I sit here nice and warm usually makes me feel sufficiently lazy to motivate me to get outside.

What a good 100th post that was!

When it comes to motivation i like to watch stuff like this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncgRLjy3d0c

Results of hard work right there.

But ultimately motivation can only come from yourself. The more you train, the better you become.

Get a training partner. Best thing.

The hardest part of training is either getting on the road or to the gym, just force yourself !!

My best efforts are usually the days when I just wanted to sleep in.

I'm sure everyone has had motivation issues when getting fit, I know for sure I have. How long have you been going running? I found that when I had only been doing 3-4 weeks it was harder to motivate myself than it is now. I never look forward to going running, but I just get out and do it. You've got to think about the rewards. I always find that after 5 mins or so, when I start breathing properly and I don't mind running. It's the first five mins when I'm cold and my legs are a bit stiff that I hate.

It's all about how much you want it. If someone held a gun to your head and said "go running everyday or ill kill you", you wouldn't find it at all difficult to motivate yourself. So you've got to give yourself no choice in your head. I always think to myself "perhaps I should have an extra rest dy today, if I rest today i'll be fresher tommorow", but I end up just going anyway, because I'd feel guilty and lazy if I didnt keep to my regime.

I am very into it to but I am really to scared to break my back or neck, so the only move I can almost do is the windmill like this

MarkBunt, your problem may lye in your goals, are you setting realistic goals which you can benifit from?

The way i look at it is, if i sit on my arse doing feck all, then i'l end up turning fat and feeling horrible, everytime i go out for a run i feel good, i feel even better after a run.

I love these cold dark nights, especially with a clear sky, i hate running in summer though.

Think of what you'l be doing when you pass training and get your green beret, thats enough for me to drag my arse out the door and start running.

Don't feel like your on your on your own mate, like a couple of the other guys have said, at some point we have all given in and just slobbed out.

I am of the opinion though that if there is somthing you don't like about yourself, don't wait until tomorrow to change it. That can be about your level of CV fitness, or strength endurance, even body composition, bad habits anything.

Training partners can be a good idea, knowing someone will be let down or getting better than you if you don't train is a great motivator.

Infact I once read a letter in Mens fitness (or another of those daft mags) about how a boxer motivates himself to get out of bed in the morning to go for a run. He puts a piece of paper at the end of his bed which reads, "for every extra second you lay in bed, your opponant grows stronger and fitter". The editors response was, "that's a very good idea, on the other hand you could stick a piece of paper at the end of your opponants bed which reads, "for every second you are out on the road, I spend more time in bed with your wife"". Harsh but witty.

As soon as you get your PRMC date where there is something to work towards it is alot easier to motivate yourself, thats what I'm finding anyway.

I found it very hard at the start of my programme, i could hardly run any distance, or time, but roughly after a few weeks when i tested myself again i noticed an improvement and that gives you a boast, then after a few months training i have a good level of fitness and look forward to running now. However a few weeks back i lost the motivation to go running every other day, i thought i was fit enough. But when i went to the careers office, it gave me a massive lift. I went out that night and set a PB, so in my little experience as long as you set yourself realistic goals and keep at it then youll have no problems.
