Selection age

Does anyone know the maximum age for attending UKSF selection as a regular (not TA units 21 or 23).
I have heard that you need 2 or 3 years service and at least 39 months service remaining ?
But is there a maximum age for selection.

Just to reduce responses, i am not currenly serving and am trying to re-enlist due to the maximum age for enlistment now has changed so i cannot contact my orderly room or submit a DCI etc.
I just want to know if i will still be eligible for selection based on age if i get back in to the regulars ?

Cheers in advance

Army website states the maximum age being 32 without military experience; 34 with previous military experience.

Here's the website to back up what I've just said: http://www.army.mod.uk/uksf/index.htm

hi,

yes that page refers to TA 21 and 23 SAS reservists and those ages refer to the maximum ages for joing the TA not attneding SF selection.

What i want to know is the maximum age for selection for 22 from regulars ?

Cheers

Last briefing I had was 34 or under when starting selection process.
So I could slope off down the naffi and not listen to their siren calls .
"if you can do a cft you can pass selection  "

Mate, youve been on Military_forums talking about how you have been unable to join the British Army for 17 years, and you come on here and talk about doing a couple of years and doing selection? I think you are way over your head, and need to forget about the army...no offence but its a young persons game.

As someone else suggested, perhaps join the TA. :-?

Morning Adj et al. Hows life treating you?

I don't think there are any definate answers to this one. The official line is 32 when you start regular selection, but there are 'special cases' (and i don't mean the welsh lads) who do the course at a riper age. 38 being the most extreme case. Not sure why though - as they'd have about 6 months 'useful' time available as a blade.

Perhaps they have a mate, who knows a bloke, who works at the publishing house next to the boat house?

All the best.

Geepod,

As Paratrooper01 has pointed out you have been on Military Forums.

The 'thread' being in the Parachute Regiment, interesting to note that you have yourself removed all your post?

Perhaps comments by yourself that you have served six years in the Army , both in the Parachute Regiment and UKSF and then denied it!!! :o

Not to mention that you also infer that you earn 75k a year!!! :o :o

Not to mention your claimed medical history!!! :o :o :o

I do think you need help of some sort, but not regarding joining HM Services.

Au contraire Rover,

He should get on down to Stirling Lines on a briefing day and have one of the DS read out his form...

Apologies for wasting a post on this chopper - i was only being helpful. The last time i did that was on bob-a-job week and i got a granny mown down in traffic so i should have learnt my lesson.

Speak soon,

Hello CS,

Seems we all have a tendancy to help at times.

With regards to granny, she did infact survive and cut me out of her will.
Any chance of you paying me the 'bob' back!!!! :o

Rover,

I would love to pay you back the 'bob', but despite ransacking her purse it seems she didn't have the means to pay anyway.

So it's you that owes me the 'bob'. And taking into consideration inflation and a gradual increase in my living costs - you actually owe me nearer four hundred sheets.

Paypal will do.

Mate, recently spoke to OC of one of the SF reserve units and he said quote', the hills decide if your too old',they are looking for guys who can pass and do the job apparently a 38 or 39 year old passed a couple of years back so don't worry too much about age just get yourself ready,if your up to standard i reckon they will have you-sounds easy.....if only!.good luck mate!

My understanding was that it was 32
A 39yr old seems is not logical, the only reason someone at this age could have a crack is that if it was a VERY special case.
The Hill“s do not determin if you are suited, the first step is the app form!
For a Rubber dagger in training Kim you seem a litted spaced out on the old knowledge, and yet you still argue with the likes of adj who clearly knows his stuff.
After Reading your little rant about the CO speech you heard i almost dropped my tea with shock that you thought people would take your word as true
Any Idea what Sqn you would be going for?
Your First Hill Tab is where? Route please?
Talk us through your Pre Selection
As somebody quoted the infomation from the SBSR or regular SBS Training Prep form here, Can you please Quote from your form, How the letter tells you to perpare?
Have you any past military service? Who with, dates ect

Nothing there is op sec, trust me, I am sure many others can tell you that.
Get typing

Read up on your stuff Kim

Mate, the words are not mine I was quoting from the OC at Poole who said ultimately the hills decide if your too old-so i presume you know better than him?,phone them if you think I am lying.I do not have the pre-selection routine as I have yet to transfer over from a parent unit I am currently arranging as my only previous is selection with 23 many moons ago,my name is down for the course and was told simply to ring back in a few months.
Prior to selection how on earth would I know the whereabouts or route of my first tab?
Regarding the 'speech rant',if you know anyone in the know ask at D 'Squadron 23 about the visit of the dsf on a drill night,i was there and it took place, pure and simple.
I am not bothered if you believe me or not and judging from your post I feel you are the one in confusion.
I cannot be bothered with this kind of chat,I posted a bit of friendly advice to someone using my limited knowledge-hang me!
This will be my last reply to such discourse,I don't feel the need to continually defend anything i state.
Please don't be insulted when I show no interest in your own credentials...
