Iraq/Afghanistan videos on youtube
Just been watchin some videos on youtube and alot if not all involved US troops dying, some by explosion and some by sniper, not for any sick reason at all (may they rest in peace), but purely curiosity as at some point i may be out there.
Just wanted to say i read some of the comments left on the vid, and one in particular was of a U.S soldier who took a round to the head whilst talking to some children and was dead instantly, no blood just hit the helmet and he's down.....and people were leaving comments like 'ahah look at that american pig twitch' and 'f@#k american dogs long live allah'.
It just made me so angry that youtube are allowing such comments to be left, and if anything it made we want to go out there even more, i can't believe people are like that......no im not stupid and ignorant to the world but it just made me so angry.
If the armed forces ever want to get there troops syked up for battle direct them to youtube, it certaintly made me irrate.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtGnGeRkLhQ (i think this is the video of the sniper) read some of the comments and you'll understand.
If anyone finds this post inapropreate (spellcheck please) then please tell me.

No only that but did you notice the women and children around who could have just as easily been hit.darrenrugby18 wrote:Just been watchin some videos on youtube and alot if not all involved US troops dying, some by explosion and some by sniper, not for any sick reason at all (may they rest in peace), but purely curiosity as at some point i may be out there.

People who do things like that are pure scum
Its real life, stand up and face it.Daka wrote:I cant understand why anyone would want to watch videos like that at all
Second point: YouTube is an american website; and they've their free speach thing going on which is why people can leave such comments.
Personally, I thing we should set up a similar site hosting loads of similar & the same videos then when the idiots post such comments hand their I.P's to HM security services for action.
Which you never know... If the owners of YouTube are smart is what they are doing...

Yeah, i appreciate that, but it doesnt for a second mean that it should be posted and viewed as a form of entertainment, which for the most part is how the videos are viewed as you can tell from the comments.Spooky wrote: Its real life, stand up and face it.
Youtube is a website which anyone can access, I just don't like the way videos of Americans/brits/iraqis being shot can be seen by pretty much anyone, anywhere.
Half the people that leave comments seem to be really young, and seem already to have galmourised war. You only need to look at all the comments saying "cool!" "Awesome" or claiming to be Navy Seals (or whatever) to realise they are kids and I just don't believe they should be allowed to view them, at least not without parental consent.
If its done in different format, such as a documentary, then I am all for it being shown, some of them are brilliant.
I understand and agree with what your saying, though you need to bear in mind its always the scum who stump up their comments to wind people up.Daka wrote:Yeah, i appreciate that, but it doesnt for a second mean that it should be posted and viewed as a form of entertainment, which for the most part is how the videos are viewed as you can tell from the comments.Spooky wrote: Its real life, stand up and face it.

For every idiot comment on there, there are a bunch of comments not made by people along side a few that are that are more mature who have posted their thoughts.
Everyone has something to say, but idiots talk loudest.

Too true!Spooky wrote:Everyone has something to say, but idiots talk loudest.
Not too sure where I stand on whether videos of people dying should be so readily available for people to watch. Yes, people who are joining the military do need to be made aware that stuff like this can happen, but should it be available for anyone with a computer?
One thing is for certain and that's that it is bloody tragic.
This however, is extremely funny!

Aways look on the bright side of life.
Yeah, especially on youtube it would seem.Spooky wrote: I understand and agree with what your saying, though you need to bear in mind its always the scum who stump up their comments to wind people up.

Also, Id like to add that I don't understand why anyone would want to see them.
By that I mean, some people have to see these things for real, they have no choice. Some people choose to see these things for real, in many cases to try and make a difference. Some people may watch a documentary (whose purpose is more often than not to raise awareness of a situation/persons plight) But people wanting to watch videos of death while they're at home on their dads computer and reveling in it is sick

If that last comment was directed at me, as i explaned at the beginning of this post i wasn't simply watchin videos for pure enjoyment, i was watchin them trying to see what it's really like over there, as if i get into the armed forces i'll most likely be out there.
It wasnt for enjoyment factor, infact its quite disturbing the fact your watching somebody die, but thats life, no disrespect is intended at all to the soldiers who have lost there lives out there at all. But if this kinda shit messes anyone up, then my advice is not to join the forces, and as this is a military forum i would assume most people are possible recruits/currently serving or ex-forces. This dispute about why anyone would watch these videos could go on forever, everyone has there reasons, be it right or wrong.

Its a shocking reality of whats faced out there.
What gets me is not the videos themself, nor the comments.
When i watch these videos i imagine myself in a similar situation, standing about with a group of mates when all of a sudden the same mate who you've just shared a joke with is lying on the ground with a hole in his helmet. Your never going to talk to him again, joke with him, wind him up or anything like that. Why him and not you?
Fortunately ill never have to experience something like this but many of the people in some of those videos will. I truly hope they are able to get over their experiences - I suspect some wont.
It's a shame videos like this are available for all to see, but that unfortunately is a reality that cant be reversed now. I dont even bother to look at the comments, it'd make my blood boil. What i wouldn't do to some of the people who post sick comments about the death of a coalition soldier - especially if they themselfs are that the soldiers join up to protect.
The thought of them sitting in their cooshty padded computer seat typing sh*tty comments about people who are there to protect their interests really does make me angry. They should set up a country for these people, send all of them there and they can slag off their army all they like. Their army can be good for nothing but taking the pi*s out of. Yes, thats an idea, i think we'll call it France.

Did anyone see the programme on channel 5 last week I think it was called "Soldiers Trophy Photos" or something?
There was footage similar to the pic on that last link. Two suicide bombers had been blown up by their own bombs (divine intervention anyone?? God really is great
) and one of the bombers had his face torn off from his skull as one of the soldiers remarked it looked like a Halloween mask!! It was proper freaky just this bunch of skin on the pavement but it was an unblemished face, appart from the fact it was no longer attatched to a skull that is.

Like it or not people have these opinions and it is their right to express them which is one of the things that people are sent to fight for. Free speech means free speech, no matter how abhorrent peoples opiniions are.
To then make a comment about frances military shows you to be just as ignorant as them, it is disrespectful to any french soldier, or indeed any soldier who serves in their foreign legion.
Bloody hell, a sence of humour goes a long way. If i've offended anyone then im sorry but if you take that seriously then i have to wonder.....
