Woohoo! Passed PRMC!

Now that's 2 PRMC's, 2 passed! haha!

49 people started, only 22 passed on this one. We had a lot of knobbers on it unfortunetely who had no sense at all and also weren't digging in.......big tip lads.....DO NOT try to cut corners when doing press ups, runs etc etc, you WILL get caught by the Cpl's or PTI's. One lad was doing ok, but got a fail because on bottom field when we were doing 10 press ups, 10 sit ups and 10 uppy downys he just laid there pretending to do it.

Because of some indiviuals not giving all out effort or simply not switched on, we ALL got beasted with either 10 press ups or 20 tuck jumps......we probably did close to 300 of them combined over the PRMC, so that shows how often some people were messing around! As you can imagine, all us who were digging in, giving full effort were getting really annoyed with them!

My scores were -
Bleep test - 11.4
Sit ups - 68
Press ups - 63
Pull ups - 5 (I almost got 6 but just couldnt get my chin over the bar, because one lad couldnt pull up, so me and the other lad were wasting energy pulled up waiting for him!)
Assault Course - 3.40 (not as good as my last time)

We lost 11 guys on the 3 miler. 3 on Gym test 1, 1 on Bottom Field and the rest at the end of the course for various reasons.

Also, one more tip....on the Commando slide....hold on tight....about 5 of the guys didnt and would have flown into the bushes if it werent for the safety harness! The PTI's were really pissed off with them!

Dave,

Well good on you mate good scores all round. I remeber when i first joined MFAT your PRMC diary was a huge godsend for me in those early days when i was thinking about joining and wanted a first hand insight into the selection process and was really a huge factor in my choice to travel to the uk and try my luck and here iam 6 months later doing pre RT training so its good to see you passed and thank you

We had a whole bunch of nobbers that kept dropping the safety clip into the Cpls heads when getting off the slide....didnt go down to well as you can imagine what a 1kg clip feels like smacking into your skull :-? :-?

Congrats again mate might see you down there.

Regards

Oz

Brilliant effort mate, I doubt there's many people who deserve to pass more than you, especially considering how long it's been for who and the small fact that you've passed it twice! :)

Nice job mate, to do it twice is quite an accomplishment, i wish you all the best, and an injury free RT. God knows you've earned it! :D

Free pint on me, if i see ya down at Lympstone.

sully26 mate - you may want to edit out the name of the PTi before the mods get hold of the post. I believe its for security reasons, we cannot post any names

Well done Dave, those are impressive scores too. I still have 6 and a bit weeks until my PRMC, all is looking good except my pressups. I am doing 3 x 6 milers per week @ 41mins. I can hit around 50 situps, 9 chinups and good sprinting. I have neglected my pressups which is why progress is slow, I can do around 30 max at the moment but really want to get that to 50 to stand a fighting chance of passing. I weigh 14.5 stones have broad shoulders but don't have huge biceps, this is why I think I struggle, I should hopefully hit the magic 50 before the 6 weeks is up.

Well done mate

well done dave,

Must have been hard work waiting all this time, after an injury. When did they put the commando 'slide' into PRMC? is it instead of the high ropes and plank walk down on bottom field (to test apptitude for height)?

Yours must have been the last PRMC before CTC goes on summer leave?

I think about 4 got PRMDC mate. They were the ones that failed the 3 miler, but opted to stay on and completed everthing else.

dwarfy: Yeah we were the last one before summer leave so we had to leave the place spotless!

I hope to start training asap but this morning I am obviously very achy and my injury is aching a bit too so I will wait for that to completely subside and go for it. I'm hoping about September/October time.

Cheers for the kind words lads and I hope to see most of you in RT soon!
