Firstly must say that I did a quick search and couldn't find this posted before.

If (like me) you are going running in preparation for the PJFT/PRMC/RT and are finding it difficult to gauge how far you have been, then this website may prove to be very useful to you.

http://www.mapmyrun.com

You can input an address/area and also get satellite images if you are running around your local park or field.

That link doesnt work ali, shame that, try editing it. If you drive you can always take your car along the root and record the distance on the secondary milage guage that can be reset! I did this to measure my four miles aday. Drove over all the country hi,ll for two miles, and from then i have just run two miles out and two miles back everyday. I got an average time of 34 minutes now roughly. Needs alot of work my old running  i want to hopfullly bring it down to 30 mins or possible 28

Cheers for sorting that out.

As I say it's most useful if you are running off road (which I am currently doing a lot of to avoid shin splints!)

Nice find.

Satellite view is pretty good, i can see my car parked outside my house!

I have noticed though, what i had mapped out as 3 miles in the car, is 2.85 miles on that map.

yea i found out that aswell so im hoping its the map thats slightly out as it would be pretty shit if i was only doing 2.8 miles when i thought i was doing 3, lol
