Hey all, I've been reading these forums for a few months now and have only now got round to posting. Tons of useful info and some great banter by the looks of things. Anyway, I've got my PRMC in 2 weeks time as the title suggests. Just wondering if there's anyone kicking about who's going to be joining me.

Cheers Rich,
Due to the lack of response, I'm guessing I'm the only MFAT bloke going down then. Not to worry, another weeks hard training and I reckon I'll be just about right for the holiday camp

Cheers for all of the replies folks. I'm feeling fairly confident and the PMA is at an all time high. In terms of scores, my 3 miler is around 19:30 give or take 15 secs depending on how ruined I am from a day at work. Pressups: 75, situps: 85 and pullups: 17 (all maximums). Been working pretty hard on the sprint work but I'd still sadly class myself as a bit of a plodder.

At the end of the day, I've trained hard and I can't wait to get down there and have a bash.

Blimey, 17 chinups, are they marines chinups, if they are thats great. You dead hang though dont you, otherwise you will feel it on the PRMC. Good running time wish i was at that standard, still time to train, wish i was going with you mate, all the best and reply to us all and tell us how you got on. Im sure you will do fine.
Just remember, its a game of mind power, just keep doing one thing at a time, im sure you will be fine looking at your scores, really well done to get even this far!
Upmost respect, i havent even had my interview yet

But hey i cant wait, been trying since i was 15, then got a job, now im ready though.
REALLY GOOD LUCK

Yeah, they're marine pullups and they're done from a deadhang. I do a fair bit of indoor climbing and they've improved a lot since I started that. Cheers for all the good luck wished fellas, I'll keep you posted on how everything goes.

With those scores and some pure determination and grit, you will pass. No doubt, How did you get the pressup reps so high??

Not all that much practise actually, for some reason I've just alwasy been good at the pressups, situps are my weak point. I think that a lot of strength training when I was a bit younger has also helped. When you've done a ton of heavy bench pressing etc, it doesn't seem quite so bad pressing your own bodyweight up and down. As has probably already been said somewhere before on the forums, muscular strength training does help muscular endurance, just not the other way around.
