Due to injury induced lack of fitness which resulted in a poor PJFT pass I've been asked to train once a week with the RMR Chatham at Brompton barracks. This will allow the AFCO to monitor my fitness and if neccesary reschedule my PRMC (in 6 weeks) and also give me a valuable sharpener and insight into the assesment at Lympstone. I was just wondering what your average phy's session contains?, many thanks, Rob.

loads of press ups,sit ups, constant running, sprints, sometimes a 3 or 4 mile run outside, sometimes an obstacle course in the gym. in the session we did before xmas we did an RMFA. the sessions usually last about an hour-hour and a half.

this is from my experience at holding troop at RMR bermondesy but id imagine its similar across the board.

I'm afraid to say a 10.44  , as explained I was not very fit after the injury and was also running in a new pair of orthotics. My trainings now back on track but certainly still lacking CV fitness, I'm hoping the weekly sesh with the local RMR will help a great deal in that department in conjunction as my own phy's that is.

I was training at RMR Chatham until recently. Was 6 months into my 1 Alpha before being forced to leave as I was doing a part time degree at the same time. And working full time. Was really gutting but hoping to get back in with the RMR after this years course.

Anyway, back to your question. Well the PTI there, great chap, sure does love that hill nearby. Expect lots of hill sprints and circuit based exercises on it. I also did quite a few endurance based circuits while I was there. Also a decent amount of runs. There are some good routes around Chatham surprisingly. As it's the winter you migth not see the Assualt Course as it's a bit dark to be going on it. Shame because that thing is a great laugh! The Chatham lads also do a booted run round the local park on a Sunday morning. You'll learn to love Cardiac Hill :D It's not just a run as you'll find yourself doing countless burpees and press ups as you go round. Oh, and I hope you like fireman's carrys! :)

If there's anything else you'd like to know give me a shout. Say hi to to lads for me. They'll know who Chemist is!
