not being a recruiter i really couldnt say, but i think it shows a maturity that you made a concise decision to return to education to achieve those qualifacations. You will have a second chance just make sure this time you dont blow it. The Corps doesnt like quiters.

Do both qualifications and ability on the field affect your promotion? Or is it just your on the field abilities such as marksmanship, leadership etc.?

i was schooled in a different country and only received my school leavers certificate this weekend (4 years late).
i didnt do maths but got a c in english for my final year. (i guess similar to GCSE.
seeing my other marks made we worry cos there were 3 E's 1 D 1 B and 1 C is that going to affect me i know i have to do entrance exam, and its math and english, english is fine cos i got a c, but the other marks for Art etc, will that affect their decision at all?

The WO1 at my careers office said you dont need GCSE's to be a Marine, he wouldn't even let me update the form when i got my results!
But im taking my certificates down to recruit training.
By the way i got 2 Bs, 7 Cs and 1 D

Unless you have GCSEs you will do NAMET, the Naval "can you write and count" exam. You will need GCSEs to be promoted beyond Jnr NCO. But you can do GCSEs whilst serving.

I lost my GCSE certifiactes, i have the carbon print outs though which states my marks and all college certifiactes but they were not accepted even though i reached 7 C's and above in maths and english so ill have to sit the NAMET test, shouldnt be too much to worry about. But its costly to get new cert's issued £85 each.

bloody rip off but i still payed it.
