Hi,
I got issued my nice shiny new pair of boots last week but wearing them in, I scuffed them on a slightly upturned grate in the street.
Am I gonna get in trouble for this down at CTC and anyway to mask scuffs besides black kiwi polish?

I think they will probably bum you and then throw you out of the corps. You probably should never wear the boots and that way they won't get scuffed, you never really wear them when your at CTC anyway

iron or melt the surrounding leather with a hot spoon until the scuffs go down (abit like sanding a piece of wood) then polish like a bastard until your having nightmares about polishing.

Take them to an old fashioned cobbler (shoe repairer). Most towns have a few of them and their dead cheap too.

Get sanding paper and sand the scuff down, or you could get a wood plane on the blinder.

You shouldnt get into trouble for having a scuff on your boots, after all they are combat boots. I am in the Guards and i dont get in trouble on parade as long as they are brush polished correctly. In training there will be plenty of times where they will get more scuffs on them.

Talking of polishing boots, anyone used this stuff before?
It's supposed to give your boots a good shine without any need for elbow grease. However, being rather cynical, I suspect it may be bollocks like most of these things are.
