RAF Regt. Airment Selection Test

Post by jon_rafreg »

Alrite lads, I have my Airmen Selection Test (Aptitude) this Friday (11 March).

I was just wondering, could anyone tell me who has been to the aptitude test for Regt. Gunner, do the electrical and mechanical comprhension scores get taken into account? And what sort of marks are required to pass.

Also if succesful in the Aptitude Test and following medical, how long is it before a provisional date for my PGAC is available?

Thanks for any help andone has to offer. 8)

The test is the same as that taken by all applicants for Airmen and Airmen Aircrew.

The results from each part of the test are used to create an overall score. In that sense, your ability in the electrical and mechanical tests will have a direct bearing on whether you succeed in scoring for Gunner.

In addition, the AFCO will add a weighting to different aspects of your test scores which provides 4 different marks. Those marks are used to identify your ability in the 4 main breakdowns of RAF trade types. In addition to THAT, each result from each part of the test can be taken into account if it is deemed that a certain trade requires a minimum standard in that area (i.e. maths and english for Pers Admin, mechanical and electrical for techy trades).
