Recruiting

Turn on your TV and you are bound to see an advert for one of the services. There seems to be a huge recruiting push going on. Mainly the Navy and the RAF are putting adverts everywhere!
I dont understand this when only a few months ago there were plans to axe loads of RAF personnel and make loads of them redundant!
How come they are now recruiting for more?

Some of the trades or jobs or oversubscribed and others need more people. I think the main problem is with the well trained technicians, when you read some of the posts that appear on this forum, would you expect that person to be an highly qualified technician overhauling the latest computers and guidance systems.

They are always recruiting...high wastage, retirements etc

OK, thanks for that, it just seemed a little weird...would they not offer the undermanned positions to trained RAF personnel first though? or do they want them 'raw'?
