Hi, sorry if this is a weird topic, though i thought 'general' discussion should be the right place to ask. In morse code, how do you do the dots and dashes, like...erm...hard to explain this really, what sounds do they make, and is there supposed to be a pause between them, or if using lights, how long do you keep the light on for each letter/word?
Sorry if this is hard to understand, i cant seem to word the question though lol.

I have never seen a more succint, or lazy reply.
I couldn't be bothered to trawl through the various web sites that you indicated.
Why didn't you give the guy a straight forward answer. I might have been interested myself!!
I did use, to use Morse Code myself. I might even be able to remember it!

Once in the Marines if you were sigs you had to be able to send and recieive MC at 12 words a minute. Now.......Pass.

As for Morse in the Corps these days, I don't think they do it. Its considered outdated these days for some reason.
Obviously someone had a brainwave one day while shuffling paper around.
Everyone knows...well most people..errr some know that a beep gets through when a voice doesn't.

This subject has been brought up at past sigs reunions. Morse has not been taught for a good number of years now, don't honestly know how many, but I'm sure someone will tell us shortly ! Funny thing is, once learned you never forget it.
