Interesting medical question...

I was wondering if any of you chaps have ever seen anyone in the marines/army with a concave chest. The reason I ask is that I have one - it's not that extreme but obviously very noticeable - but I don't know if it would prevent me from joining any of the forces. (I won't be joining any for quite a while yet, although I do want to.)

I did email the army careers people but they said I would have to write a letter, take it the AFCO and they'll send it to a doctor. The AFCO's about an hour away by train, so I thought I'd try here first.. Obviously I'll go if I have to, not that big a deal. :)

It would be pretty crappy to fail a medical for something I have no control over, so I bloody hope that doesn't happen!

Thanks in advance :)

PS. if for some reason anyone was wondering, I'm 19..

Orite Mate,
I had my medical on tuesday and this was a worry on my mind as i also have a concaved chest.
The Doc asked if i had any problems with it before, which i had not, and he said theres nothing to worry about. So passed me medical and awaiting my PJFT. Can't Wait!!
Hope this helps mate,
Regards,
Tom

It used to be known as 'pigeon chest' one of our squad had such a chest, but he made it, I think th efags slowed him down, not his lung capacity.

The medical term is Pectus Excavatum!

When I was at uni a lad had this and he would put sprits in the dip of his chest and let girls lick it out like cats in the milk bowls.
