oh bugger

Post by thenewshmoo_1 »

hi guys

During the past 4 months i`ve cancelled RSC twice due to being indecisive about my fitness level and cancelling it to work on it more. Basically i have RSC next week and i want to cancel it again because i dont want to join REME anymore and want to join the infantry now (need a better BFT).
My Recruitment officer said that if i cancel again he wont make another appointment

Yes i`m an indecisive twat who constantly cancels RSC and generally pisses everyone off at the AFCO, but, can he really stop me from joining the army on the grounds that he doesn`t like me cancelling RSC every 5 minutes? ( i dont blame him)

i`m more annoyed at myself than anything because he`s actually a nice bloke and has done nothing but be helpful

If he refused to put me forward what are my options? Thanks guys.

He can put a hold on your application for at least 2 years. He can say you are not of the right so and so, they have the power, of 1 person that gets to RSC apparently 7 fail to get through the same stages!!

You have to remember the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes, it's not as simple as just a phone call etc..
I can quite believe your AFCO about holding you, remember they have to decide whether you have the right frame of mind to join the Army.
At the end of the day the BPFA is quite easy, just go for it and do your best and you will probably do ok, dont cancel again as they will probably tell you to get lost and that would be a bummer if you really want to join.

I assume your going in as an officer, your ability to F*** people about and your indecision make you an ideal candidate. In all honesty do you think your looking at the right career? The fitness needed to get in is not that difficult to achieve, changing your mind all the time is what children(and women)do. Before you go back decide what it is you want to do and do it. Be aware once your in if you keep trying to change trades/regiments etc the people you deal with will not be as forgiving and polite as the AFCO.

:o

im joining as a soldier....my first choice was the parachute regiment but i find running under 9 minutes quite difficult (i`m about 1 min off)but if i could do a sustained amount of training then i could pass....its not really in my nature to be indecisive but for something like this i want to be sure its what i want to do.(which it is) If they tell me to get lost then i`ll just have to take it on the chin i suppose.

Give it a good go mate, if you are doing it in a group it may work out easier. In the Para's they expect you to be positive and not to hang back, as they say failure is not an option. Now if you wont try to do it then they might start to think are you the right person for them.

If you train hard enough and want it, there is no reason why you can not get under 9 mins.

Ditto what W. Mitty said.

Why can't you just f@cking train like everyone else? Stop dithering about and sort your life out.
