Yes it is hard to believe. A non politcal charitable organisation which assists servicemen and women has had its symbol/brand banned on Ulster Television.

One has to ask why. If the poppy offends nationalists so much perhaps they should reflect on the following...

The Allies beat Germany and the Axis powers in WWII, the Republic of Ireland remaining neutral during this conflict.

If we had lost all persons in the Island of Ireland would be speaking German right NOW !! Neutrality or not.

What next?

It should be remembered that many people from the Republic Of Ireland fought and died against Germany during the two World Wars, and they get No credit from their Country and very little from ours. It was only during the last seven days that their was a newspaper story about on of the most successful fighter pilots in the RAF during WW2 was an Irishman with over 34 kills. Seventeen where during the Battle Britain, he was killed in 1942 while on fighter sweep over France. So lets stop throwing stones at a lot people who are good friends.

There seems to be some confusion here. The Irish soldier (from both the South and Northern Ireland) has fought and died in all major conlicts that the U.K. have been involved in for hundreds of years.

The Royal British Legion support ALL of these soldiers and there families in times of need. I am not trying to draw on any difference of nationality or religion in this post. This is being carried out effectively by the bigots and T.V. companies.

try wearing a poppy out here, (which i do with pride) you get some right evil stares from some of the older generation. But Osnabruck is very Nazi orientated, we even get barracked once a year so they can have their youth parade.

Well not quite Devalera did sign the book of condolances on the death of Hitler, and they did leave their lights on to guide the German bombers. But on the other hand the firemen from Dublin and Dundalk did help to put the fires out in Belfast after the Germans bombed it.

Oh and the homosexuals layed a pink wreath at the cenotaf in Belfast the other day.

I wonder will it be there on Sunday morning?

To be honest I haven't really seen that many people prowdly wearing their popies this year.

barrybudden, well lets put the record straight, I have been out selling poppies and I have been clocking up £100.00 per hour. Every hour I have to go back and get another tray and tin they are selling that fast. The problems is getting people to do this sort of work, every one seems to think some one else should be doing it. Also you can only sell poppies on the Street one week before Remembrance Day Services, they are on sale two weeks before that in the shops, but again it is the problem of finding some one to take them out to the shops and then collect them again. Now what have you done except moan?????
