Referees

I'm filling out the AIB/1 form at the moment for the RNR and wondering who to list as referees. Apart from tutors, URNU CO and employer (who all come under separate headings, I need two "private referees" and don't know many people who would be suitable. What sort of people should I be thinking of?

I put down my godmother, who is a teacher for special needs kids, and a family friend who i've known for about 15 years, and is a member of various organisations like the British Legion, Moose etc...

I grew up overseas, so the only non-family non-academic non-work people I can think of as referees are my contemporaries (mid-20s). Do you think that would be odd?

Should be ok, I put a mate down as one of mine, as long as it's someone you trust to give a sensible reference!
