P001 enjoy the RSC, are you doing the warm up 1.5 miles first? Because if not, there is a nasty surprise in store for you. Have a look at the thread on the Para Insight course.

Your fitness is good enough to pass mate, try your best when there though. just keep your head down and pretty much do as they say. its best not to hang around with the dicks that im sure will be at your RSC, we had a few. Don't drop the jerry cans and make sure you make some noise and get involved on the team tasks, its pretty important to them.
if your lucky mate you might get the same intake date as me, 10th Oct. Hopefully see you there.

I thought the run was 800m warm up as a squad then tiny rest & into 1.5 mile best effort in sub 9min's? which makes it about 2 miles.

yes thats about correct but the warm up shouldnt zap any of the fitness needed its just a warm up, very slow running. there is no tiny rest either its straight to the start line and go. make sure you get to the front because i was at the back of a big bunch, on a pretty thin road. it knocks a few seconds off having to break through them all

ye tunny thats right, i was at the back the first time i went to lichfield and it does lose you a lot of time getting past everyone.

how "slow" was the last erson in the run???i run around 10 minutes...but when i see all these times of around 8 min. i feel very slow

i'm only going for Army RE,so 10min. should be ok...just wondering abut the overall standard at RSC

10 mins will be fine, thats a good time to get. most people when i was there were slower than 10:30. the first time i went i ran 9:56 and finished in 13th place, there was about 30-35 people there. alot of people there are surprisingly unfit!!

one lad actually stoped and started walking, so he pretty much failed there and then for his efforts, no excuses for that no matter how unfit you are, you could atleast jog.
Quite a few guys were getting slower times than 10 minutes, infact most were. The reason your seeing all fast times here is we're all trying to join the paras. At RSC every type job goes there, from paras to chefs (no disrespect

)
I seen people passing for RE with slower times than 10 minutes, but you got to remember that even if your run is good enough you still need to pass everything else
