Hello All!
How are you keeping? My names Dave, I am 18 and I have been devoting the last 4 years of my life to becoming a Royal Marines Officer, whether it be Fitness training, Education, Current and Corps events, History of the "beloved corps" and generally improving my public speaking skills and confidence.
Iam a avid member of the ATC and have been since my 13th Birthday (5 years ago) and am now at the Rank of Cadet Sergeant.
Going on this september to do the Junior Leaders Course hopefully heres a link www.juniorleaders.org

Drop me a line if you wish to know more, it really isnt any inconvenience and if you want to become a Bootneck or a Royal Marines Officer, get in touch could do with someone to share some training stories and pains with lol!

Beauty is only a light switch away!
I think that may be one of the best quotes I've seen on here yet

Hey Dave, when are you thinking of applying? Sounds like you've been pretty committed to the cause for a while...!

Good luck with the JL course mate, it's pretty tough but nothing too heavy. The main thing with it is that it will take up a LOT of your time when you're not on one of training weekends. My brother started it a few years back. He was top of the course but left just over halfway through as he couldn't manage doing his final year at uni as well as the JL course & stuff on his Sqn.

The JLs is a really good course to do if you want to join the forces. Apparently it's held in quite high regard by those at AIB & POC. Shame I never did it, but God knows how I would have had time!

Good luck with the JLs & RM Officer mate.

Dan (fellow RM wannabe).

Cheers guys yeah, I kinda like that quote myself, was given to me buy my best mate who is in week 28, but has been at lympstone since november 2003 :S. Anyway thanks for the welcome, I am thinking of applying pretty soon, if there is still a Corps after Geoff is finished.

Ah well I am sure the next guy who comes along will change it all back!
