Hi all (again!)

Does anyone know where you can go from being a Telecommunications Operator? I've looked at the RAF careers website but I can't see any clear path up from this job.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Thank you for your reply. I had to go the RAF website to look up those abbreviations but I probably won't forget what they are now that I've seen them.

Join RAF...go to Halton.

First 26 weeks OR until end of specialist training as an Aircraftsman/woman.

then...

Promoted to Leading Aircraftsman/woman.

then...

At least 12 months until you take Trade Ability Tests (TATs) that are appropriate to your job.

then...

(if you pass TATs) Promoted to Senior Aircraftsman/woman.

then...

Promotion to Corporal, Sergeant, Chief Technician, Flight Sergeant, Warrant Officer is by competition.........

Im currently a trainee TCO and I would very seriously recommend the trade to anyone as it know has a technical element to it. Next year it is partly merging with the electronics technition trade, so in theory, you could join as a TCO, and not need any qualifications, and still learn a techie trade.

Good luck

Adam
