Did my barb tests last monday and scored quite highly. I was offered to try for radiographer in the RAMC, even though I dont have any A-levels. Seems strange to me but if they're are willing to train me then I'll go for it! I was just wondering if a radiographer starts off with a higher rank than private, since the training time is probably longer. Anyone with any thoughts on this?

After completing your BARB test, did you not get given a sheet of paper with the job description on it?
You may well find that you don't start at a higher rank but your promotion is set on a time scale. Don't take my word for this, this is just how it works with REME (go in as private, on completion of trade training get promoted to Lance Corp, after a year at L/c promotion to corp, 5 years at corp, promotion to sergeant)
The best thing is to phone you AFCO.

All the radiographers I know are all commissioned.
