Fellas, at the RSC what exactly are 'heaves' are they just pull ups with palms facing towards you? Would appreciate knowing this I know what Dips are.

except that the grip you use is shoulder width and you're holding onto a high bench and not a bar and remember heaves are done from a fully hanging bottom position right up to where you're chin clears it i.e No sissy half reps
Apart from that it s identical to pull ups

A lad on my RSC didn't manage any and still passed. I think it really does depend on what job you want to do, I think you should be aiming for ten though for a good score.

I was told by the Ssgt at the AFCO that 10 is a Green, ace pass or whatever he called it.
Just aim for ten and that'll be super

Mate, the best thing you can do is practise, In december when I started the process I went out and got a bar(£7 from argos). I started off being able to do just three. Then each day I did one more pull-up now I can do a fair amount. At my RSC I did 14.
Its impossible to say whether you'd be ok or not if you did well in the other scores because at the end of the day you might not do well in another part of RSC then thats two things you aint done well in. Go there aiming to do well in Everything

I believe TWO is the pass rate but obviously if you are joining the infantry, engineers, REME or Artillery you should aim for around 5 or 6. Paras have to do a minimum of TEN to pass, i think, but should aim for 15-20.
