Isn't the SBS going to be disbanded?

I read somewhere that the SBS was going to end and it's personnel would move to SAS's Boat Troop? Is this true?
Frankly I don't see why the SAS needs a boat troop if there is the SBS.

NO! is the answer.
Although they are "apeing" (not a very good term and one I am not happy with, but it seems appropriate.) the SAS - in as much as the organisation and roles are very similar.
The SBS are very strong and thriving. We have just had a re-union and we had a briefing on current roles and Ops.
I have the greatest admiration for the current guys. We didn't get to do half the things that they do.
It was also a brilliant weekend! In fact it was so good that I can't remember half of it!!
