The All Arms Commando Course takes people from all services(im sure somone will correct me

) and is held at CTC(lympstone). Im not sure of the duration but you get the green beret to show your commando trained and keep your regiments badge(i think, unless ive read wrong).

No it isn't 30 weeks, thats what it takes to become a trained Royal Marine Commando. The AACC is 8 weeks long and is for men (and women

) from all the services and from any role, ie Engineer or infantryman or airman. They learn Commando skills and at the end get the Green Beret, but as said above, they stilll wear the badge of their unit, and not the Globe and Laurels of the Royal Marines.

For what its worth why don’t you do it properly, anything in life that’s worth doing isn’t easy.
Do the 30 weeks become a "proper" commando?
What makes you think that you will stick the AACC out if you don’t have the drive to become a royal in the first place???

With the AACC comes a pay rise, promotion, respect and opens oppurtunities for you.

The AACC does train you as a commando, but I'm pretty sure you'll only get on the course if you're needed in the brigade. After all, I doubt there's much call for a commando trained submarine techie, and such a course won't be cheap or readily available for anyone.

The AACC is 15 weeks long and any member of the Navy Army or RAF that is to be attached to the Royal Marines must complete it before thay start there job with the Corp. The lads in 29 Cdo RA and 59 Cdo RE are the norm on the course, so are Navy Schoolys and Medics, Tech lads with 3 Cdo Brg also do the course. The God Squad members also do it. There may be others but unless you are to be attached to the Marines you will not be able to get on the AACC( unless you are Royalty). The only people working with the Corp that do not do the course are the WREN'S, as many Marines have tried to pass the WREN'S course and failed, it is thought that WREN'S are to F####g hard to do a simple AACC

Luv ya really Jenny
