Is there a fitness test at the start of Basic Training?

Hello,

I did my PRMC last year and I will be starting basic training on September 1 of this year.

Do they test your fitness again? In other words, do you do the Gym Test 1 again (i.e. press-ups, sit-ups, chin-ups, and the bleep test?).

Thanks in advance.

First and foremost jesse well done on the prmc, and good luck with training, i'm on my prmc september 2nd, i'll look out for you (can't be that many canadians in your troop :D ).

From what i've been told, you'll have to do the gym tests again and do better in them, but i don't know if this is official it's just what i've been told on these forums.

Good luck mate, hopefully if i do as well as i hope on my prmc i'll start my training while your still at lympstone.

Aside from the fact you will be physicaly tested throughtout your training (in order to progress you will have to pass various test's)

There is a regular fitness test carried out by all arms of the british military.
This is the Basic Fitness Test (1.5mile run as a squad and indavidual effort, press up, sit ups and pull ups). All military personel are expected to pass, and as some personel get older, this test also takes into account age, allowing them extra time and less press up's/ sit up's and pull up's.

Thanks Jonah and Skiffle for your responses.

To Jonah: Thanks, I am very pleased to have passed the PRMC. As for seeing each other while you're at Lympstone, that's very unlikely. The PRMC candidates and the Nods don't mingle at all. However, we may bump into each other later on. Good luck.
