You may be in for a surprise young sir! Contrary to popular belief it's not all about driving down the Autobahn eating a Yorkie bar, you may have to do a little bit of soldiering as well.
As a former RCT (a fore runner of the RLC) soldier of 22 years, let me know how you get on. Good luck at RSC (one of my son's is there on 22 Jul 03, trying for the Royal Engineers).

I SURE WILL LET YOU KNOW HOW I'M GOING ON.CURRENTLY GOING TO THE GYM EVERY NIGHT TO SHED A BIT OF BALLAST.WHAT IS THE FAILURE RATE AT RSC?.I MIGHT BE A BIT OF A OLD GIT COMPARED TO THE REST BEING......25!!!!.BUT IF I DON'T DO I'LL REGRET IT,ASK AGAIN IN 4 YEARS TIME MY VIEWS MAY CHANGE.AFTER ALL THIS HEALTHY EATING, GOD I'D KILL FOR A YORKIE BAR.

With regard to failure rate at RSC, I am no expert but apparently some potential recruits have to attempt it two or three times. It can't be down to the fitness tests, I think even I in my wrinkly state I could achieve and exceed the benchmarks! Probably down to maturity issues, reasons for wanting to join etc.
I'm sure as a 'mature' potential recruit the above will not apply

hey. about the failure rate, when i was at selection last week there were about 7 or 8 people who'd already tried selection once or twice before, i'm not sure what the pass rate was as i was one of the first to leave after the interview but out of the first group of say 15 people to go for interviews about 12 passed

Well STICKY BLUE with reference to your quote about every-one running off when wanting to load up.It's a good job i hold a fork lift licence and a JCB licence.I'll bloody do it my self and enjoy it.I'm not a run off when the shit hit's the fan kind of person.I'm not being smug it's just that at my age a few tricks up my sleeve can reward all.JOB DONE!!

At a recent career's chat i was told that after basic and phase 2 training i would be shipped out to Germany.Do all logistic trade careers start out at Germany?I've nothing against the hun but is it the only option or do you go where your put? What's the accommodation like for a family of four?.Yes i have a understanding wife but explain that to my 4 year old daughter who since watching 'Saving private ryan' think's i'm going there to kill some kraut's.Bless her
