How many times can you attempt the interview, medical, written tests and the PRMC individualy?

i'd also like to know this...i am going to my AFCO next week to ask that as there are no clarifications on this anywhere i believe...

any feedback would be greatly benifical...

There are two schools of thought on this, (usually)
1) Don't even think about failure.
2) Be prepared for any eventuality, and I suppose failure comes into this category.
I prefer option 1. Don't even imagine you will fail. Head up and get on with it.

he was rather encouraging acctually and was extremly useful and supportive...

I think that in general, it is three attempts, but one of the guys on my prmc, from the same AFCO as me, failed on gym test 1 on his second prmc and was told by the afco he was not getting a third attempt so it pays to be ready first time round.

Hi guys, here's another question for you. Two actually. Firstly how many times do you roll your eyes and mutter to yourself "agh, bloody wannabes and there daft questions" (or something similar)?

Secondly. I myself tend to try and think realistically. Not really negative, just not blindly positive. I know that I myself, probably stand little chance of getting into the Royal Marines. I'm nothing special. I'm just me. However my tendancy to think like this only serves to make me more determined to give it a 110%. If I fail, I won't be surprised, I know I'll have tryed. My secondary plan would be to join the RGJ if the Marines won't let me try again. I wouldn't tell this to my interviewers. If they asked me what I'd do if I failed, I'd say I'd deal with that if it happens. Anyway, to my question. If I failed to get into the Royal Marines, do you think it'd have a negative affect on joining the RGJ afterwards? Would they look at you as though you where a failure, and asume you'd fail the army selection? Sorry to ask daft questions. As a wannabe I feel it's my duty to harrass thee with pitiful whinings.

You might be surprised by how little most of the guys roll their eyes and comment to themselves about the questions you younger lads might ask.
We've been there and done it enough to know that the only truly stupid question is the one you don't ask. Knowledge, like determination and guts all help with success, keep on asking, we'll tell you if we think it is stupid. Sorry to my esteemed colleagues if I speak out of turn, but normally we seem to be able to rely on the Royal view being shared by us all.

Cheers barryc. As a wannabe, it's sometimes a bit awkward knowing whether or not to ask, or sometimes what to say. It seems sometimes on these forums that whatever I say might end up annoying somebody or insulting someone, and that's never my intention. I really appreciate all you guys and your advice, and when you give us wannabes a bit of an earfull for saying or asking something stupid, it helps us out in the long run, because we won't say or need to ask it when dealing with people face to face. Cheers to all you ex and serving, and to all the charecters who run this thing

i'm with mav on this one, i really wouldnt have a clue of what to aim for in trainging and PRMc..

this site has been a godsend and i appricate all you EX-MNE's and other guys for your great and wise knowledge
