Hi, I'm 18 and have just been to see a Navy Carreers Advisor, but one question I forgot to ask was.....

Which Job will get you in to the Royal Navy the quickiest???
The jobs I'm interested in are Mine Warfare and Weapons Submarine.
But I want to get in the Navy as soon as possibe so which job will you get in fact with or are them two Ok?

Also, I smoke Cannabis 1 or 2 times a week and I know it stays in your system for like 12 months or something so I was wondering...

When I have my medical before I join will they find out that I've been smoking cannabis and not let me in?

Why do you want to be in the Navy so fast? Why not few extra weeks training to do something you will enjoy, rather than just picking the easiest and not enjoying it as much?

like cr*p does it stay in your system for 12 months. it stays with you for between 2 and 6 hours, and just a little longer for the chemical signature to dissapear (between 6 hours and 2 weeks, depending on what your smoking).

I never knew there was waiting lists . Anyway, you'd be as well to wait for what you really want to do to open up, rather than rush into sumthin u dont like.

Joining the services, definitly!

thats why i wanted to know because now i will stop smoking it.

my mate who's in the RAF smoked bit of weed couple weeks ago, will he be chucked out the RAF then?

he always said no to it because he's in the RAF but then for some reason he had some.

They say after 4 weeks no problem for a medical.

FOUR weeks AFTER smoking, it is safe to go for a medical, and no traces will show.

my mate was dead against trying weed due to him wanting to join the RAF because he wanted to fly the fast movers, and he got all psyched up for the interview and aptitude test. he passed in the top 6 of about 80 people.

at the medical they told him he was a little short sighted and no hope of ever flying fast jets. crushing, eh?

but im trying to convince him to join the marines now, and go for the helicopters. hooray!

Take it from one who has seen it firts hand you do not want to be a muppet (Mine Warfare) or any other branch of OM. If you have decent grades try for tiff. Bit of a waiting list but you can always go for RNR in the mean time.

By the way DRUGS ARE NOT BIG AND NOT CLEVER GIVE THEM A MISS!!!!!

The man is right , OM is a crap job although you will get in a lot quicker than if you to go for aem or something , tiff is the way ahead . You could always join as an OM(MW) and then go tiff.

Sorry Peds, just had a word with the man who knows and it will show up as the fatty cells, deposited by cannabis, are there virtually permanently and may break free at anytime, causing flashbacks and trips. What he did say is all people are different and consequently reactions are different. But the main word is DON'T.

I'm in the TA and our unit was drug tested a few weeks back. One lad was collared for it and thrown out - he told me he hadn't touched the stuff in months.

Also, have you thought about where your money is goin when you smoke cannabis. The south american drug cartels (where most of the uk's weed comes from) are renouned for being brutal - remember hearing about that little girl who's family was lined up and shot in front of her for "getting in the way"? Also, it is and has been a major source of income for terrorist groups including the IRA for many years.

Personally it makes me sick that you so openly admit to doing it and if I met you in the street i'd be strongly tempted to tear out your throat and sh..t down your neck hole. you f..king lesbian.
