I was talking to my mate in college who attempted and failed PRMC a couple of years back and i asked him about press-ups. He said that they're not really that botherd about techneque - they advise you before hand but as long as you do enough and put in 110% then they don't look at techneque.
I'm still not gonna be completly devoted to this finding becuase it may have changed or his information may not be acurate but its a reliefe becuase if its the case then i can do about 10 or 20 more than i could with the 'arms in' techneque.

I'm almost certain that the PRMC does NOT require you to do press-ups to beeps. Jacko stated that this was for the POC, my POC training booklet backs this up. However, nowhere does it state that the PRMC requires the beeps, merely as many as you can do in 2 minutes. This makes it easier...

As for technique, Ro55 said his batch were allowed any positition, but i've read that incorrect form only deducts 2 or 3 anyway, so I guess it's not much of an issue if, like me, you can do over 10 more of the marine press-ups...i'm still going to mix my training so I can do both but i'm confident we should be ok for our PRMCs. If anyone can help us out then please do!!

My info comes from my PRMC and all the others I've seen in the gym since as long as you don't have your arms really wide they won't say much. how ever you are there to impress and if you can do it with your arms tucked in you would be marked higher for it

Frankly there really is very little extra effort in order to get your posture right . So you might as well practice perfectly . if you want to see the way to do it get yourself a copy of Royal Marines Circuit Training by Robin Eggar and Dieter Lorraine.
