Kit

I realy dont know why you young lads want to join up, be it any branch of the British services.

I've known about the problem of lack of Kit and Hardware for some time. but I never, in a month of sundays, thought it was as bad as it appears. I find it grotesque that Blair and his cronies cannot find the cash to equipt our forses for battle, but CAN find millions to house and entertain immegrants.

How the f**k can a government send its forces in to battle ill aquipt, at the same time having the indevidual Squaddie fork out for replacement gear because the stuff they DO get is such crap?
How can a government send 35,000 troops to a war, the rason for which, is to say the least, ambigous.
We had reasons to oppose Hitler, Galtiari, and the thugs in the Balkans, the absence of a clear cut reason for our Lads and Lassies to endanger thier lives here, has not been put, at least not in my view.

God forbid that we ever have to see body bags being returned to the UK. If it does happen, I want Blair and the rest to be on the tarmac to recieve them and be personably responsible to Parents, Wives and loved ones....No chance..... The truth is that he is not an Honerable man

Unfortunately Mike, if there are body bags, the Cult will be the first person out of the Limo doing the sad handing and projecting his caring sharing image on TV for the world's press. I can see the scene now and I'm already pissed off.

The American forces laugh and call us "the borrowers". I cant believe the troops are using their own cash to buy kit via mail order.
There probably aint even bloody body bags to bring them home in, just have to make do as defence budget wont stretch. But here you go Mr Salim have a room in one our stately homes that we''ve kitted out for you.. F**k the troops..... :bad-words:

Per several other sites I frequent, American and Canadian soldiers both make a habit of using non-standard gear. The mountain climbing/outdoors companies are far faster at adopting new items (like Gore-Tex in the 80s, and camelbaks) than any military. The military will eventually catch up when there have been no major breakthroughs, but again fall behind when something new comes out.

He's just a tight twat when it comes to our guys and gals, the kit is out there, just look at ebay and the vast number of sites selling everything they need to make sure they can do the business, got to go as my head is starting to explode.

Read in the paper (again) about the dire problems with the British Army. They are sending our Challenger tanks out to the Desert with North European paint, now thats what I call camoflague!!(how the hell do you spell that!! :-? ) However we are to be assured that thy will be painted desert colours as the paint shortages are being sorted out quickly. Lets hope they remembered to change the air filters this time.

Camouflage. Camo. Cam. Cammed Out.
Rab, I was sorely tempted to dart into your post and retype it correctly, but you would have spat your dummy out.
Chris, you may know it as Kamflg, Comflugr, and finally Hiding. 8)

Uncle Sam may laugh at our tanks, but we laugh back in the desert when we leave them standing.
Electronic automatic gearboxes... who needs em'
Wonder if they are prepared this time round. :)

There's been quite a few grumbles about their kit on Leatherneck. So if the Septics are dripping about kit, how must our lads feel? :o

Mike,

You misunderstand the situation. The war has nothing to do with Iraq and Saddam. Anywhere would do. Just so long as Tone can commit troops and pay the "blood price" for his place in history. Not his blood, or dearest Leo's, of course. Mind you the poor lad will soon be facing the trauma of leaving to attend university, living in a luxury pad and having to pay an atrocious £2 a pint for his lager.
