Hi all in the RAF(and everyone else indeed!). My name is Cadet Cooper of 1330 Warrington Air Training Corps Squadron. What Squadrons are all of you lot in? Some day i hope to be in the RAF but i have a few years to wait yet seen as though i'm only 13 years of age. Can anyone tell me how to increase my fitness by a fair amount please because at cadets i feel embarrassed when it comes to sport because i'm useless at it. I cannot do pressups which is my main problem, when i collapse on my face when trying, i get given more, you see my dilema. any replies to the thread would be much appreciated. Please excuse me from the appalling grammatical skills shown.

Hiya Ste, welcome aboard.
If you look at the "Joining The Marines", you`ll find lots of info on fitness. Best advice, talk to your P.E. teacher because at thirteen your body is still developing and can easily be damaged by over exerting, not warming up etc.
Good luck with the Air Cadets

cadet cooper( very formal this isnt it ) if your'e joining the raf you only need a basic fitness but if you are joining the regiment ,you may have to think about a good fitness regime ,and a mind to suceed where others would ,just give up . all the best

Hi all,

enought with this cadet shyte already!!!

Any way, Cooper Names James from 231 (norwich) squadron (guess the rank!). You need to be at level 10 on the beep test but forget the rock apes unless you like living in holes!!!!

As for the press ups it all comes with practice, but don't burn yourself out,. Take things slow and easy and you'll find you gett fitter than you think!

welcome cdt cooper, i hope you get as much good advice out of this site as i do but remember to give some as well, good luck in your training and i work with ex rockapes who say they had a good time but it was a lot of mud and bullets, if thats what you like then fine but i was happy in my air conditioned police car or whizzing about on my bike, have a good christmas mate.
