go into a search engine and type USMC, theres loads of dedicated sites!

16 weeks v 30...........no need to say much more.
Last time i checked the requirements for entry fitness wise are much much less. The marines are not like the royal marines the rely upon pure amouts in numbers compared with great skill a lacking in numbers.

*wakes* They do 13 weeks basic training then 3 weeks combat training. The combat training is compulsory so is in fact 16 weeks. *cough* *falls back to sleep*

USMC :170,000 men has more aircraft than our RAF and its own ships
Royal Marines : 7,000 Men
You cannot compare them just on face value I'm sure you could find 7000 USMC as good as Royal
Lets just be glad that they fight with us
(We're definatly better as we don't have woman)

Joe, now you've dug the hole, pull in the top and take cover. My brat is fitter and stronger than some attending PRMC, from what I've seen and heard. AND her ability to carry out her military duties enhances her position within her squadron; ie the lads do exactly what she wants. So don't write off the girlies, they are good at what they do, but suffer from male apprehension and male dickheadedness. (Don't bother looking that one up in your Funk & Wagnell) AND your only a sprog, so how do you know? Felice Nueve Ano.

I knew there was something else, her grammar and spelling are better than yours.
How's the training going?

"Nods TAKE COVERRR!!"
"F*&%in gorse!!"
j90, at least if we had women in training the wagon would be so full up on the speedmarches that we would have to finish it, how wonderful!!

Good try, not biting!
If they didn't have a wagon, despite the H&S regs, then all those grotty nods who stopped or slowed would HAVE to finish somehow wouldn't they. Even more reason to keep going. Our lot once ran right over the top of a troop member who collapsed, nobody saw him, poor lad was delirious for the rest of the day.

hmm, i'm confused, was it your troop or your landrover that ran over him

? Damn the corps was hard in those days hehe, 10 points for each nod hit was it? 20 if you get him on the bounce!

The troop and I mean the troop, ran over him, he was in the front three because of his poor fitness, nobody saw him go down until he was spat out the rear, we nearly stopped due to the laughter. Brian Walley was his name, nice bloke, smoked three fags before getting out of his pit. Still made it to passout, everybody helped.
