True i may not be in the marines or have i passed my PRMC *YET*.

I see many people baffled if to join up or not.Well i cannot decide for you but i can persuade you hopefully.
My dad was in the army Royal engineers for 22 years 'we' i use ' we' meaning our family traveled the world. Canada, cattrick, wimbish, japan, germany and my dad about 5 times as more places.
So you can see he has seen a fair bit of the world in a non combat organisation.Marines i wauld imagine wauld see more places than this.

You yourself will be thinking the pay is low.

STOP THAT NOW

Whilst in the army my dad was earning less than he is now for the same amount of work yet we had a better standard of living.Thats because there are many things that you dont have to worry about ,with rising house prices nowadays you wauld expect a large proportion of your wage to go to the house. In the army this is not so you mearly rent it and if your a 'squaddie' you spend even less on food living etc.

One thing i noticed when i was a boy about 9-10 is the social events. There is a party or mess every week of your carrer. If your married you yourself will probably not make as many 'friends' by yourself compared with your wive.Every one knew everyone were we lived all the time, my mum introduced new people to my dad from the womens general daily chores.Imagine when your drunk sat by yourself and another drunk person just comes and speaks to you for no reason, no unusual is it.This is exactly what happens in the army people you dont know will generally speak to you and invite you to places .

Well this is just a few arguements for you to ponder over.Hopefully i have persuaded you.

What are you waiting for dawg! You've been here for nearly a year and a half, get a move on, they wont need marines by the time you get going, we will have space ships and photon torpedos to do it for us! :P

Apart from that, quite right, who cares if the pay is pathetically low, if you want to get rich, be a fireman. As Cronk said, most of the stuff civvie's need are already paid for and so you don't need to spend your hard earned cash on it.
There are 3 kinds of people: those who can count & those who can't.

A T-Shirt worn by many when 'relaxing' (ironing, washing and preparing for the next day) at CTC. Should really have picked one up myself!

Those T-shirts are chad and for lads who have just passed their PRMC and want to impress their girlfriends/mates/boyfriends(?!). Even the spelling is wrong on the 'adinuf' one. Enough said :D
